This new stock trading app aims to explore a new market targeting at individual investors with a stock trading APP. Through user research, identified user pain points and product prospects, as well as tailored product designs and data services for young investors. Provide concise information presentation and interpretation to help users make better investment decisions.

Marketing research

Because of the pandemic's impact, young people showed an increased interest in investing in 2020.Faced with financial uncertainty, the individual market implied a new tendency that young investors were reducing consumption expenses and putting money into investment accounts.

Analyzing the competitors, we found that most stock investment apps provide extensive data without undergoing information processing; the interface is disorganized and may cause confusion for users.

The market research shows that:

User research

We conducted 1 on 1 user interviews to discover investors. The interview covered the user's investment goals, risk preferences, investment learning sources, investment habits, and challenges they faced during the investment.
The participants are aged 20 to 35 with 1 to 10 years of investment experience, mainly focusing on the Chinese financial market.

Based on the result of research, we decided the product strategy as attracting users by providing high-quality investment services and extending the user investment lifecycle, instead of the competitors that earning fees by encouraging investors to engage in frequent trading.

The display of stock information is important for investors, because they rely on this page to access stock information for making investment decisions. By showcasing financial data, company information, and market dynamics, investors can gain insights into the stock's performance from various perspectives.

1. Information architecture

I designed the information architecture by the priority of the stock info and the frequency of viewing. The information is categorized into tabs, so that users can easily access.

2. Data service

How to assist investors to make smart decisions?
In our user research, we have identified that novice investors often lack professional financial knowledge, leading to uncertainty about how to analyze a stock. Faced with complex financial charts and data, they frequently experience anxiety and struggle to comprehend the significance of these numbers.

Stock price chart

Stock trading apps commonly presents candlestick charts. However, for novice investors and those uninterested in short-term price fluctuations, don’t like to read the complex chart.
So, I've introduced a simplified line chart that focuses solely on illustrating the trend in stock price movements. And the types of chart can be easily switched.

Stock Rating

Our aim is to assist investors in establishing sound investment practices. To achieve this, we have developed a straightforward and user-friendly stock analysis model by knowing:
